Up High

My mom came into the city to visit me at work the other day, and then we walked the High Line from Hell’s Kitchen to its end at little W. 12th. I’ve never been on it before… it is so gorgeous! A totally different perspective of the city. For those who don’t know, it was an elevated railway that was long since abandoned. A few years ago, someone came up with the genius idea to turn it into a walkway. They’ve added plants and trees all along the way, and it has all these cool peninsulas and areas that overlook the river and the city. Plus there are even chaises for lounging at one section, as well as adorable food booths with coffee, yogurt, and cute treats!

We walked it on literally the best day, weather-wise. It was right at sunset, and a little above 60 degrees. It was such a nice little venture and I always love looking for new areas in the city. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting!

This place never ceases to amaze me.
