I went on a little expedition a few weeks ago to “find” nature in the city for a photo editorial I was putting together for my magazine class. I ended up walking in and out of the beautiful community gardens in the East Village.
Of course, one of my favorite places in the city is on the west side, just a few blocks down from my apartment: the Jefferson Market Garden.
It’s go go go here, all the time, so these moments of escape balance everything out. No specific quote for the mantra this week, but just encouragement to go out there and find your escape, no matter how busy you are.
These little pockets of nature in a world of concrete and asphalt just further underline the spontaneity and unexpected moments that exist around every corner of New York.
